Rain Friday Morning

TODAY: Most locations will see primarily rain this morning, while some locations could see a few thunderstorms. Those south of I-70 and west of US 63 could see moderate rain near Sedalia and Boonville by 6AM. The best chance for rain this morning is north of I-70. The rain chance looks to end by 1PM-2PM east of US 63. It will be a cloudy afternoon with temperatures slightly milder in the upper 60s to near 70.

TONIGHT: It looks dry this evening and tonight to get any yard work done. Rain will increase late, after 2AM across the Ozarks and move into Columbia by 3AM-5AM early Saturday morning. The winds will pick up tonight and it looks mild with lows in the upper 50s.

EXTENDED: It will be soggy and breezy this weekend. Heavy rain will persist for much of Saturday into Sunday. Rain amounts could reach 3″ to 5″ in central Mid-Missouri including Columbia. There could be some locations that see near 6″ of rain across I-44. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 7 PM Friday until 7 PM Sunday due to the heavy rain threat and flooding potential. We’ll also need to keep an eye on strong to severe storms on Saturday night. There is a Slight Risk for severe weather from I-70 and south on Saturday night. On Sunday morning this threat shifts to those east of US 63, where there is a Marginal Threat before 3PM.
