Gov. Greitens, campaign ordered to pay up over ethics violation

On Friday, the Missouri Ethics Commission ordered Governor Eric Greitens and his campaign group, Greitens for Missouri, to pay a violation fee stemming from his run for office.

In court documents obtained by ABC 17 News, the commission said the campaign failed to disclose a list of possible donors as an in-kind contribution.

The group maintain they “acted in good faith to comply with Missouri’s campaign finance laws.”

Greitens for Missouri will now have to pay a $1,000 fee to the commission.

If they pay 10 percent within 45 days of the order issued and don’t face further violations over the course of the next two years, the remainder of the fee will be dropped.
