One man charged for Macon County murder

Law enforcement in Macon have arrested 38-year-old Ray A. Holt in connection with a homicide that happened in Macon on the 200 block of South Rollins Street.

Macon police and Macon County deputies responded to the call at about 3:00 a.m. and found one deceased male victim at the home. Police have identified the victim as 34-year-old Ryon Perkins.

After law enforcement had processed the scene, officers got a search warrant for an apartment on North Rubey Street. They arrested two people there at about 9:00 a.m. One was Holt, and the other has since been released.

Law enforcement conducted interviews with witnesses and with Holt. As a result of the investigation, police said he has been charged with first-degree murder.

His bond has been set at $1 million cash. He is currently in custody at the Macon County Jail.

An autopsy of Perkins is scheduled for Monday morning with the Boone County Medical Examiner.
