United Way of Missouri Campaign Kick Off

On Friday, Sept. 2, the United Way of Missouri held their annual community kickoff and supplies drive.

The event was held at the Shelter Insurance Training Center, and included a breakfast, guest speakers and a ribbon cutting ceremony from the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. From 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., donors were able to drop off supplies that were listed on the event’s main webpage.

Among the guest speakers were Columbia Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Peter Stiepleman and Shelter Insurance President Rick Means.

With a three million dollar fundraising goal, the United Way of Missouri is already 20 percent of the way there.
