Marginal Threat for Severe Storms Saturday
Much of the day on Saturday will be dry. An approaching cold front will move in to Mid-Missouri counties north of I-70. Temperatures will be 10 degrees above average for early May, in the low 80s. There will be some instability in the afternoon and evening, and wind shear. Dew points look to rise to the 60s in the early evening for areas north of I-70. These ingredients could fuel some stronger storms in the evening. The threats with Saturday’s storms will be small hail, and possible hail of 1″ or greater with the strongest storms. Areas north of I-70 and west of US 63 look have the greatest chance for the severe threat. This includes the counties of Howard, Chariton, Saline, and Pettis counties.
