Storm chances return this weekend

We will have dry weather from Wednesday through Saturday afternoon as high pressure settles over the Midwest, keeping the storm track to our north. Temperatures will stay mild through Thursday but a wind shift to the south will bring temperatures up to the lower 80s Friday and Saturday.

A warm front will lift to the north Friday, setting up over far northern Missouri through early Saturday. At this time it looks like it will stay in northern Missouri much of the day Saturday but could drop south Saturday night. Warm, moist air lifted over this boundary will cause showers and t-storms to form which could affect areas north of I-70 Saturday night into early Sunday morning.

An area of low pressure will continue to wind up over the Central Plains this weekend , gradually shifting to the east through early next week. This will give us an increasing chance of t-storms Sunday evening through next Wednesday. Some of these could affect Mid-Missouri by late in the day Sunday.

We will watch the trends through the week and have updates on the weekend forecast. At this time, it looks warm with plenty of dry time this weekend.
