Upper Level Pattern Will Bring A Week of Quiet Weather
A familiar upper level winds pattern will redevelop this week over the continental United States. An omega blocking pattern, similar to the one we saw in mid-April, will set up shop for this upcoming work week.
Two areas of low pressure will develop over the United States: one over the Eastern third of the country and the other along the coast of the mid-West. In between these two “troughs,” an area of high pressure, or a ridge, will anchor itself over the central United States. This will ultimately result in a cool and wet pattern for those areas influenced by the upper level troughs and dry weather for the regions under the upper level ridge.
Mid-Missouri will be positioned on the eastern side of the ridge axis. So while we will enjoy plenty of dry weather throughout the work week, winds will persist out of the northwest through Thursday, which will help keep temperatures at normal and slightly below normal levels.
