Jefferson City Council to meet Monday night

The Jefferson City Council is scheduled to meet Monday night on several items before the new year.

The council is expected to hear public comments and vote on a proposal involving improvements at Menard’s and vote on an ordinance involving property off Highway 179.

That plan would involved mixed use development consisting of 200 residential units and more than 450,000 square feet of commercial space.

The council will also hear a presentation regarding riverfront access. The Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce has taken the lead on that project, since there is technically no easy way to get to the river currently.
