Contract awarded for Missouri River Bridge repairs in Jefferson City

A contract was awarded for work on the Missouri River Bridge in Jefferson City Wednesday.

The $7 million project is slated to begin in spring 2016 for painting and bridge deck repairs on the westbound bridge.

The project is expected to greatly impact traffic next spring, as the westbound bridge will be closed, and the eastbound side will be striped to have two lanes of traffic in each direction.

All access ramps from Highway 54/63 to West Main, the eastbound on-ramp from McCarty to 54/63, and the westbound on-ramp from Route W to Hwy. 54/63 will be closed during the westbound closure.

The entire project will take about 16 months to complete.
