Man on the run after police chase has been identified

A woman is in custody and a man is still on the run following a chase through Columbia and in Boone County Sunday night.

Several law enforcement agencies were at Farrar Road near Route VV north of Columbia.

Authorities have identified the man as Ralph Richmond, 41, of Kansas City. Corporal Scott White with the Missouri State Highway Patrol told ABC 17 News Monday morning they would not continue with a formal search of that area. He said they are following up on leads, however.

Richmond was last seen wearing a white tank top. He is 6’0, 180 pounds.

White told ABC 17 News a Highway Patrol trooper tried to pull over a stolen white truck at a Moser’s in Columbia.

After a chase along I-70 and Highway 63, the truck drove into a wooded area off Farrar Rd. near Route VV.

Police had a spike strip set up at Route VV at 7:00 p.m.

Authorities were able to locate the stolen truck in the woods, but it was abandoned. After sending in a K9 to search the area, police found and arrested Rikki Herrin, 24, from Independence.

She is in the Boone County Jail on a $13,500 bond.

Highway Patrol had a helicopter searching the wooded area between Route VV and Farrar Road.Authorities were also using an ATV to search the area.

The driver was still on the loose as of 10:00 p.m when authorities were wrapping up the 4-hour search.

Highway Patrol is advising neighbors in the area to keep doors and cars locked overnight, and to be on the lookout for the man.
