Tracking a warm Wednesday followed by rain chances Thursday and Friday

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds and mild with lows in the mid-50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s to near 80.

EXTENDED: Clouds increase tonight, but storms stay off to our north and west. Lows fall into the upper 50s overnight with highs back near 80 again tomorrow. We'll see our next best shot at storms between Thursday and Friday as a front moves in, but with a lack of wind shear the severe threat will be low. We'll pick up around 0.5" to 1" of rain between Thursday and Friday. With the front sliding to our south on Friday night, we're looking largely dry with a slightly cooler weekend as highs get into the lower 70s on Saturday and Sunday. I have a low chance for storms on Sunday in the forecast, but an atmospheric cap may keep much of that activity at bay during the day. Between Sunday and Monday, a warm front lifts back through the region, making the environment more unstable. Conditions are starting to look a little more favorable for our next chance of severe weather between Monday or Tuesday with the passage of another cold front.
