Man indicted for robbing Columbia banks on bicycle

A Mid-Missouri man was federally indicted for allegedly robbing several banks in Columbia between November 2014 and January 2015.

43-year-old Shaun Becker is charged with 6 counts of bank robbery by a federal grand jury and faces up to 20 years in prison along with up to a $250,000 fine.

Becker apparently took $3,890 from the Missouri Bank II on November 20.

Eight days later, on November 28, Becker apparently took $6,000 from First State Community Bank, and $1,810 from the UMB Bank on December 9.

Becker allegedly robbed the Boone County National Bank of $600 on December 15, and took $2,000 from Regions Bank on December 22, according to court documents.

On January 3, Becker allegedly took $1,394 from Boone County National Bank.

Becker admitted to authorities that he robbed each bank, and each time got away on a bicycle.

Each robbery was carried out nearly the same way. Becker would rob the bank and run to where he stashed his bicycle, and change into new clothes.
