Jefferson City man sentenced to 15 years for robbery, escaping from jail

A Jefferson City man was sentenced to 15 years in the Department of Corrections for multiple charges.

Dowdy was found guilty of robbing the BreakTime on Clark in Jefferson City in June 2013.

Police think he was also part of a shooting on East Dunklin and a different robbery on Chestnut Street.

Dowdy was convicted of trying to escape from custody last year.

Roy Dowdy was charged with first degree robbery, armed criminal action, damage to jail property, and attempted escape from custody.

Dowdy was convicted of all charges last year by a Cole County jury.
