Officials discuss funding for Boys and Girls Club in Jefferson City

Officials met Monday night to discuss a plan to pay for the Boys and Girls Club in Jefferson City.

The old building was torn down for the expansion of Highway 50 in the Capital City.

A new building is planned on the Lincoln University campus.

So far, the club has raised half the money, and Monday night will kick off a public campaign to raise the rest. The total cost of the building is $2.2 million.

The director of the program, Dan Westhues, announced the partnership between the Boys and Girls Club, Jefferson City Parks and Recreation, and Lincoln University for a new multi-purpose building in the Capital City.

The Boys and Girls Club will be able to use the multi-purpose building for its activities.
