Shots fired call in Boone County leads to an arrest, recovery of a stolen gun
A Columbia man is in jail after a shots fired call on Demaret Drive over the weekend.
People in the area reported hearing two gunshots Saturday night.
When deputies arrived, they arrested 26-year-old Danny Holmes after they found him intoxicated and in possession of a handgun that had been reported stolen.
According to court documents, Holmes was convicted of felony assault in 2005. Because of that conviction, he is prohibited from having a firearm.
Deputies said no injuries were reported.
Holmes is being held in the Boone County jail on a $13,500 bond.
