MoDOT to re-stripe part of I-70 overnight
Prepare to slow down on I-70 Tuesday and Wednesday night as crews are out re-striping parts of the interstate for better visibility.
MoDOT crews will be re-striping both east and westbound lanes from mile marker 111, just west of the Missouri River Bridge, to mile marker 133, near Route Z (the Centralia Exit).
The work begins at 10 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and is expected to continue until 5:30 the following morning.
MoDOT officials told ABC 17 News drivers need to use extra caution driving on I-70 during the work because the line of trucks doing the re-striping will be moving at a slow pace of only 8-12 miles per hour.
The trucks will have flashing lights and “wet paint” signs to warn drivers, but officials say they can still catch drivers off guard with how slowly they’re moving.
The striping was supposed to happen last week, but was delayed because of rain.
There will not be any lane closures because of the striping.
