Jefferson City conference center rejected
It was more than 50 years in the making, and it could be another 50 more before Jefferson City builds a conference center.
The Jefferson City council rejected both proposals at Monday night’s meeting.
The downtown and mall proposals were problematic to council members for different reasons.
The downtown proposals almost won approval but failed by one vote to move on to the next phase.
Mayor Eric Struemph told ABC 17 News there is no plan to move forward with a conference center project.
