Man Tries to Steal Liquor
Columbia police arrested an 18-year-old man for trying to steal liquor from a popular downtown bar.Officers say around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, workers at Quinton’s Bar saw Evan Policht of Libertyville on a closed portion of the upper patio. When employees approached him, Policht jumped off the patio into the alley.Employees then noticed the back door of the bar had been pried open and broken. They found Policht and another man trying to steal crates of liquor.Police arrested Policht for first degree burglary with bond to bet set, minor purchase/’possess intoxicating liquor with a bond of $300, first degree property damage with a bond of $4,500 and stealing felony with a bond of $4,500.
