Police Interrupt Burglary

Columbia police are connecting two recent burglary suspects to the break-in at Hollywood Theaters back in September.Early Monday, police were called out to a law alarm in the 4100 block of Paris Road at Tractor Supply. When police got there, two people were in the fenced-in area and one outside the fenced-in area of the store. All three took off running from the scene. Police caught up to a car seen leaving the area. The driver was Dakota McDaniel, but the vehicle did not belong to him. Cops say it belongs to the brother of Jared Stark. Police found Stark walking along the road.Stark was arrested for burglary and police say he’s also responsible for the burglary at Hollywood Theaters in September.Police say McDaniel implicated himself. He was arrested for burglary and is also tied to the burglary at Hollywood Theaters.Columbia police believe the two men are also connected to several other burglaries around the city, including at Forum 8.”The Tractor Supply, the Hollywood 14 they know are related then the Forum 8 they believe is related also and probably the same two we have in custody and two more we’re looking for,” said Sgt. Joe Bernhardt. “They’ve been watching for these kind of activity, didn’t know exactly who was doing it, but these kind of activities are hitting businesses and theaters.” Police say the men used burglary tools to get into the movie theaters and also cut the phone lines to prevent the burglary alarm from sounding. They got money out of the businesses’ safes and then were able to take off.
