3 men charged over 2018 fatal Missouri tourist boat accident
The charges were filed Friday in Stone County against Ride the Ducks Branson captain Kenneth Scott McKee, general manager Charles Baltzell and manager on duty Curtis Lanham. All three face 17 felony counts of first-degree involuntary manslaughter, and McKee faces 12 additional charges.

Chicago restarts COVID travel rules with cases up in states
The move comes after weeks of no travel restrictions and declining infections. The Chicago Department of Public Health announced Tuesday that unvaccinated travelers from Missouri and Arkansas have to either quarantine for 10 days or have a negative COVID-19 test. The restriction goes into effect Friday.

(KMIZ) Researchers at the University of Missouri School of Medicine are gearing up to study how long COVID-19 vaccines can provide protection and how vaccination immunity is different from natural infection immunity. The University hopes to enroll 500 people who have either received a COVID-19 vaccine or who plan to become vaccinated soon.

Rise in COVID-19 cases causes MU Health Care to tighten visitor rules
Starting Wednesday, adult inpatients at University Hospital, Missouri Orthopaedic Institute and Women’s and Children’s Hospital will be allowed one visitor from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Women in labor will be allowed a spouse or partner and labor coach. No visitors will be permitted for adult patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

Monroe County man sentenced to life in prison for fiancee’s death
A Cole County judge sentenced James Addie to life in prison without parole plus 10 years for the 2018 death of Molly Watson. Addie was convicted in April of first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He was sentenced at that hearing to 20 years on the armed criminal action count, but sentencing for the murder conviction was delayed until Monday.
