Police investigate shots fired in Columbia early Saturday morning

Law enforcement investigates shots fired at Mountain View Court in Columbia on July 10, 2021

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department and Crime Scene Investigation team were seen investigating a shots fired call in Columbia.

Law enforcement was originally called to the scene on Mountain View Court around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

According to CPD, there was no victim as a result of the shots fired call, and no property damage reported.

Shell casings were discovered in the area, however police say they do not have any suspect information or description.

ABC 17 crews on scene observed at least seven CPD cruisers and officers putting up crime scene tape. Crews also saw CPD searching the area with flashlights.

Police believe there may have been a party in the area, with over 10 people at the scene. Officers say people at the scene were uncooperative, however some in the area did say they heard loud bangs.
