MONDAY UPDATES: Boone County reports an additional 1,447 COVID cases after reconciling data since the pandemic began
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting that 33 new coronavirus cases were added to the information hub on Monday. The county delays reporting cases by two days.
The dashboard is showing nine COVID-19 patients in Boone County hospitals. Of the nine patients, three patients are in the ICU and one patient is on a ventilator.
Additionally, 43,171 previous COVID-19 cases were recorded previously. After reconciling data across multiple data systems, PHHS has now recorded 44,618 total cases since the beginning of the pandemic. That is an increase of 1,447 cases.
Boone County is reported to have a low COVID-19 community level, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS).
The Columbia Public Schools reports active coronavirus and quarantine cases to their website daily.
The district reported a 12.3 14-day rate for last Saturday.
CPS reports that 18 district facilities (10 elementary schools, four middle schools, one high school and three other district-wide facilities) currently have staff out because of COVID-19.
The district is reporting 19 coronavirus cases in staff across the district. The breakdown in staff shows 12 staff members at an elementary school, four staff members at middle schools, one staff member at the high school and two staff members at district-wide facilities who have tested positive for COVID-19. Three staff members at elementary schools have to quarantine due to being in close contact.
The district reported 11 district facilities that have reported coronavirus cases in students. In the district, there are five out of 21 elementary schools, two out of seven middle schools,three out of four high schools and one other district-wide facility have reported coronavirus cases in students.
There are nine active coronavirus cases in the district. There are three cases in elementary schools, five cases at the high school level and one case at a district-wide facility. There are 11 cases that are currently quarantined due to COVID. The district is reporting three cases at the elementary school level, seven at the middle school level and one at the high school level that is currently in quarantine.
Cole County reports nine new COVID cases over the past three days
The Cole County Health Department reported nine new coronavirus cases on Friday.
According to the dashboard update, there are 17,417 total cases in the county since March 2020.
The Missouri coronavirus vaccine dashboard reports Cole County as having a low COVID-19 community level.
The Jefferson City School District reported no new coronavirus case in a student or in a staff member on Sunday.
The district is reporting one active case in a student and no active case in a staff member.
Boone County making changes to the COVID-19 Information Hub
Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) is changing some of the data provided on the COVID-19 information hub.
Officials say the change comes as Missouri moved to recognize COVID-19 as an endemic disease, shifted focus from individual case reporting to surveillance and the state will no long provide data on display the total number of Missouri COVID-19 cases, deaths and Cases by School District as these data are no longer available.
Changes to Boone County reporting data include removing Citizen Tests and Positivity Rate charts. Providers are no longer required to report negative tests which are used to calculate the local positivity rate. Cases by Catchment Counties will now link to the Missouri COVID-19 dashboard.
The changes will be reflected on the Information Hub beginning on Monday afternoon.
