KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou baseball team fell to No. 1 Tennessee on Sunday, 4-3, which kept the Volunteers perfect in conference play this season, 12-0.

With the loss, head coach Steve Bieser's group fell to 18-11 overall and 3-9 in SEC action.

Freshman right-handed pitcher Drew Beam was efficient for Tennessee on the bump, throwing seven strikeouts and allowing just two earned runs over six innings. Mizzou actually out-hit the Volunteers on Sunday, with four more overall, but couldn't capitalize.

Josh Day continued his hot streak and led the team with two RBI.
