Tracking fewer clouds and fall temps

THIS AFTERNOON: Clearing skies, with mild temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s. Light winds from the northeast at 5 to 10 mph.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and cool, with lows falling to the lower 50s.

EXTENDED: Quiet fall weather continues through the end of the week, with highs in the 70s and sunnier skies through Friday. However, rain chances are expected to return this weekend, along with a potential warmup. Our first showers could roll in late Friday, but better rain chances arrive on Saturday, with a few storms possible mostly north of I-70, where nearly an inch of rain is possible this weekend. Showers exit early Sunday, and models disagree on what temperatures will look like early next week; we may remain fall-like in the 70s, or we could return to more summer-like heat in the mid-to-upper 80s.
