Mizzou softball clinches series win over South Carolina

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

No. 25 Mizzou softball clinched the series win over the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday afternoon, courtesy of lights out relief pitching from Megan Schumacher.

Schumacher threw 4.2 scoreless innings to bring the Tigers to the 7-3 win.

The two teams were tied up at three for quite a bit, but MU managed to break through in the sixth inning, thanks to some small ball play from Kara Daly, Emma Raabe, Jenna Laird, Casidy Chaumont, and Brooke Wilmes.

Up next - Mizzou will look for the series sweep against the Gamecocks Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Mizzou Softball Stadium.
