Two men arrested in Audrain County after being accused of robbery, armed criminal action
Terrell Metts and Ricardo Thompson were arrested and charged after being accused of robbery, armed criminal action and assault in Mexico.
According to the probable cause statement, one victim told Mexico police she was lying in her bedroom when she heard something outside.
Officers said the victim went outside and saw two men. The victim said Metts told Thompson to grab her.
Police said Thompson approached the victim, wrapped his arm around her and placed a gun to her head.
The victim told police the men took her wallet. She also said Metts went inside and took a TV.
Another woman told police she had been assaulted by Thompson, who had struck her with a handgun in the ribs and upper body multiple times.
Officers said the second victim was struck on the left side of her head with a gun.
Officers said Metts took the second victim’s purse and wallet, took the money out and threw the rest of the items on the ground.
When police interviewed Metts, he said he was at the home during the robbery but that he did not take part in it. Metts also told officers he went inside the house but did not take anything.
According to the probable cause statement, a witness saw Thompson at the home getting into a confrontation with the second victim and saw Thompson come out of the home with a TV before that.
When officers interviewed Thompson, he claimed he was at home during the entire night of the robbery and that Metts tried to sell him a TV.
