Man charged in weekend shooting at an Eagle Stop in North Columbia
UPDATE: The Boone County Prosecutor on Monday charged Marc R. Ballinger, Jr. with unlawful use of a weapon.
Ballinger was arrested early Sunday morning after police responded to calls of shots being fired at the Eagle Stop on North Providence road.
Two security guards working at the Eagle Stop identified Ballinger to investigators.
The witnesses told police they saw Ballinger pull a black revolver from his waistband during an argument with another man.
The witnesses told police Ballinger pointed it at a group of people in the convenience story parking lot in a threatening manner.
At one point, witnesses say Ballinger put the gun to the chest of the man he was arguing with and then ran around to the back of the store and two gunshots were heard.
