Tracking a few flurries, warmer Thursday
TONIGHT: Increasing clouds and not as cold as lows drop into the upper 20s.
TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy with flurries possible early. Highs in the upper 30s to around 40.
EXTENDED: It's been a chilly afternoon but thankfully the winds have died down quite a bit from yesterday with feels like temperatures right at the air temperature today. We'll start off clear with gradually building clouds tonight as south winds push more moisture into the area overnight. A few flurries will be possible before lunch time tomorrow as a cold front moving in from the northwest interacts with this moisture, but I am not expecting any accumulation or impacts. It's cold again behind the front tomorrow night as temperatures drop off into the mid-teens, and upper 20s for highs on Friday. The weekend begins a short-lived warm up back into the 40s, and we eventually top out in the low 50s early next week as the jet stream becomes southwesterly. With an active pattern setting up, we'll see a strong low pressure system work across the Plains Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing likely rain to start, followed by the possibility of some wintry weather Wednesday into Thursday morning. We're about a week out from that and the system is not yet ashore, so we'll iron out the details as it gets closer. We'll have to watch temperatures and timing closely to determine the precipitation type and impacts.
