Tracking a strong system approaching by the weekend

TONIGHT: Winds will start to relax tonight, and even switch to a more northerly flow for a few in the north. Overall, the evening stays clear and pleasant, with temperatures dropping to near 40 degrees overnight.

TOMORROW: A warm front will lift early Friday, bringing a chance for showers as soon as late morning. Winds will surge again, out of the south. This will pump up our temperatures through the day. We'll see highs back in the upper 60s. After the showers, a break from rain through midday is expected, with a chance at some more sunshine under partly cloudy skies. As the sun sets, the same system that brought us our warm front will bring a cold front through. The timing of this front plays a big role in the weather we see as it passes. Right now, it looks like the front may pass around or just after the dinner hour. This places a chance for thunderstorms ahead of the front on the eastern half of the area. This will be something to watch as we get closer to Friday night. As of now, the threat for stronger storms remains just to our east, but if things like timing changes much, we could see that threat move as well.

EXTENDED: Behind the front, winds will kick up and push in the colder weather shortly after the rain departs. Temperatures will fall from the 50’s and 60’s into the 30’s in a span of 2-3 hours. Highs on Saturday will be knocked all the way back into the upper 40’s, but we’ll start to climb the hill again getting into next week. We’ll go from the 50’s on Sunday,  to the low 60’s by Monday, and top out in the upper 60’s and low 70’s Tuesday and Wednesday.
