Tracking one last warm afternoon
FRIDAY: After another mild start, more sunshine will keep us on the warm side of December. Highs will reach the upper 60’s with a few brushing 70° this afternoon.
TONIGHT: Winds will shift out of the north and start to carry some cooler air in. Overnight lows will fall all the way into the 30’s tonight under mostly clear skies.
EXTENDED: It will be much cooler on Saturday with highs stuck in the low 50’s thanks to a steady northeast wind. We will have some sunshine to help matters out. Clouds will increase, however, Saturday night. Those clouds will come with a few showers overnight but should move on by sunrise. Temperatures will return to the low 60’s on Sunday ahead of our next cold front. That will pass through Sunday evening, developing rain by the time it reaches southeast Missouri. That will knock out highs into the low 40’s for the first half of next week. A few passing disturbances bear watching Tuesday and Wednesday, keeping the threat of a few showers around midweek.
