Tracking a pleasant Tuesday before a midweek cooldown

THIS AFTERNOON: Lots of sunshine and a steady southerly breeze. Highs top out in the low to mid-70s.

TONIGHT: Mild with more clouds moving in after sundown. Temperatures will steadily fall into the low 50s.

EXTENDED: A few showers will move through early Wednesday morning as a cold front sweeps across the region. This won't be a washout with rainfall totals generally less than a quarter of an inch. Clouds linger all of Wednesday and temperatures steadily fall through the day; much of Wednesday afternoon will feel like the 40s. Seasonal temperatures return behind the cold front with freezing mornings possible on Thursday and Friday. Late week highs stick to the mid-40s but a small warmup is on the way for the weekend.
