Tracking rain returning Wednesday night before a big cool down
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and mild with lows in the lower 50s.
TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy and breezy with highs in the upper 60s. A few sprinkles are possible before widespread rain moves in after sunset.
EXTENDED: Clouds hang on tonight, keeping us in the lower 50s for lows overnight. Tomorrow is cloudy with a few sprinkles, but the better chance for rain will hold off until evening as a cold front works through the area. Showers and a few rumbles of thunder move across Mid-MO through early Thursday morning, but we should be drying out for most of the morning commute. A couple spotty sprinkles behind this system are possible on Thursday afternoon, but the main difference will be the big drop in temperatures and gusty winds. We'll see highs in the low to mid-50s with wind gusts picking up to 20-25 mph. This leads into a chilly Friday as highs only reach the low 40s, but the wind chill barely gets to 30 degrees during the day. Settle in for a cold end to the week and chilly start to the weekend with lows in the mid-upper 20s on Saturday morning. The weekend is cool with a few clouds and highs in the low to mid-40s. Bundle up for Mizzou tailgating! A fast-moving clipper system could bring a chance for a few showers or even a few flurries across northern Missouri overnight Saturday into Sunday morning, but little measurable precipitation is expected.
