Columbia police say man accused of sex crimes is captured
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Columbia Police Department is searching for a man accused of sex crimes.
According to a Twitter post made by the police department on Thursday, officers are looking for 52-year-old Larnell D. Brown.
Police said Brown is known to visit local hotels.
The Boone County Prosecutor's Office filed felony first-degree sodomy and first-degree kidnapping charges against Brown on Friday.
Brown is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in May after offering the woman a ride home. He used a pocket knife to threaten the woman, according to court documents obtained by ABC 17 News.
The probable cause statement said the Missouri State Highway Patrol and police used DNA evidence to reportedly link Brown to the assault.
According to court documents, Brown didn't know the victim. He's also the suspect in two other sexual assault investigations in Columbia.
Brown is ordered to be held on no bond once he's taken into custody.
Anyone with information about Brown is asked to call CPD or CrimeStoppers at 573-875-TIPS.
