Tracking the potential for severe weather Sunday

TONIGHT: Clearing skies and cool with lows falling into the upper 40s.

TOMORROW: Chances for scattered showers with temperatures in the low to mid-60s.

EXTENDED: Temperatures overnight will fall back into the mid-40s with mostly clear skies early in the night. Clouds approach early Saturday morning which may halt our cool down, and usher in a few showers before sunrise. Showers and storms look to become scattered by mid-morning Saturday, especially south of I-70. After what may become a brief lull in precipitation, showers and storms return late Saturday along a warm front pushing in ahead of Sunday's storms. Sunday poses a threat for severe storms, especially south of the aforementioned front. All types of severe weather are possible, but our main concern at this moment is hail and damaging winds, with the possibility of tornadoes. A Weather Alert Day is currently being considered for Sunday. Quiet weather returns Monday, with more rain chances to follow through mid-week.
