Man convicted in deadly road rage attack near St. Charles

KMIZ

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) — An eastern Missouri man has been convicted of involuntary manslaughter after a man died during a road rage confrontation near O’Fallon. A jury on Monday found Joshua O’Keefe, of Troy, guilty in the death of 68-year-old Ron Lawson in August 2020. Witnesses told police the two men were driving west on Interstate 64 when both vehicles stopped on the shoulder. Court documents said O’Keefe ran toward Lawson and punched him in the face. After Lawson fell, O’Keefe picked him up and hit him again before putting Lawson back inside Lawson’s truck. Police found Lawson unconscious in the truck. He died later at a hospital.
