Tracking overnight showers with a cooler weekend ahead

Today: Southerly flowing winds at 5-10 MPH will help warm us up today into the upper '70s. Skies will remain mostly clear throughout the afternoon hours.

Tonight: A low-pressure system located over Nebraska begins to slide east tonight allowing for overnight showers and a few storms. Winds remain predominately out of the south with an overnight low of 61.

Extended: Showers hang around throughout the day Wednesday and Thursday. Thursday night, one last cold front slides through Missouri leading to more widespread showers and a cooldown. Highs on Friday and Saturday remain in the mid-'60a with the overnight lows dropping into the '40s. Saturday and Sunday will be mostly clear thanks to an approaching high-pressure system.
