COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Missouri’s new health director says the agency is working on new guidelines to help schools keep kids safe from the coronavirus. Director Don Kauerauf on Thursday told reporters that the state health department is coming up with what he called clearer guidance to keep kids from getting sick or needing to quarantine away from school. Kauerauf also says good information is key to increasing vaccination rates. He says local COVID-19 outbreaks currently are the biggest driver of increased vaccination rates.
