Boone Co. DWI checkpoint results released

New results have been released from this weekend’s DWI checkpoints east of Columbia.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department and Columbia Police stopped cars at two locations overnight Friday.

They started near Richland Road south of St. Charles Road.

Then, they moved to Mexico Gravel Road near highway 63. They stopped more than 70 vehicles, but only arrested one person for drinking and driving.

Two people were accused of having drugs, and three others didn’t have a valid driver’s license.
