United Way gives grant money to Mid-Missouri organizations

Several Mid-Missouri organizations are receiving a gift from the United Way of Central Missouri.

Thursday morning, United Way named 15 recipients for some extra funding.

The organization is giving away $120,000 in one time grant money.

“We are changing the lives of the people right here in our own back yards and we could not do it without you. That’s what it means to live united, and that’s what we’re doing, living united,” said Ann Bax, President of United Way of Central Missouri.

The Food Bank of Central & Northeast Missouri, Rape and Abuse Crisis Service, and Jefferson City Day Care are among the organizations getting grants.

Also, United Way named its two co-chairs for this year’s community campaign.
