Tracking a break from the intense heat with more on the way

MONDAY: High pressure just to our north will give us a chance to get some fog going, especially in some of our lower lying areas. It will keep things fairly comfortable this afternoon, with highs near 90 under mostly sunny skies.

TONIGHT: Those easterly winds we enjoy today will get replaced by southerly winds tonight. That will keep lows near 70 overnight, despite mostly clear skies overhead.

EXTENDED: That’ll set the table for a warmer afternoon on Tuesday. Highs will top out in the low 90’s with the heat index pushing into the upper 90’s. But it gets worse from there. We’ll warm up even more Wednesday and Thursday with highs stretching into the mid-upper 90’s. That will send the heat index soaring well into the triple digits, so try to plan your week accordingly to avoid those two days. Thursday night a front will try to put an end to all of this, bringing back rain chances. Those chances for rain will be very hit and miss into the weekend, but could be enough to keep us out of the mid-upper 90’s.
