Deputies confirm one person shot and killed Friday morning in Boone County
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Boone County Sheriff's Office confirmed it is investigating a homicide that happened early Friday morning.
Officials with BCSO confirmed one person was shot and killed on East Santa Barbara Drive east of Columbia shortly before 1 a.m. Friday.
ABC 17 News crews on the scene saw deputies searching the street with their flashlights and investigating outside one house on the street. Deputies left the scene a little after 2 a.m.
The Boone County Sheriff's Office was also seen investigating outside MU Heath Care Women's and Children's Hospital in Columbia around 2:15 a.m on Friday. ABC 17 News crews on the scene saw at least four cars from the Boone County Sheriff's Office and at least one car from University Police.
ABC 17 News crews saw law enforcement investigating what appeared to be a black vehicle parked in front of the emergency entrance of the hospital.
The Boone County Sheriff's Office told ABC 17 News crews further information about the shooting on East Santa Barbara Drive will be released later Friday morning.
