St. Joseph man accused of using peanuts attempting to assault a man with severe peanut allergy

CAMDENTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

A St. Joseph man is accused of using peanuts in an attempt to assault a man in Camden County with a severe peanut allergy.

According to a release from the Camden County prosecuting attorney Facebook page, the victim told Camdenton police that Jacob Andes, 27, put peanuts in his coffee, laundry soap and underwear drawer.

During the investigation, Andes allegedly sent text messages to his mother, the victim's girlfriend, that "I hope there isn't anything weird anywhere, or especially everywhere, since I don't have allergies."

Andes was arrested Monday on a separate incident.

According to the release, Andes admitted to putting the peanuts into the victim's house. Andes told police he had done this because he thought the victim was poisoning him.

Andes is charged with first degree or attempted assault.

A no bond warrant has been issued for Andes.
