QUESTION OF THE DAY: Do you agree with Mun Choi on downtown Columbia crime?

University of Missouri System President Mun Choi has not kept a low profile in putting pressure on Columbia and Boone County officials when it comes to violent crime.

After high-profile incidents downtown, one of which resulted in a young woman's death, Choi has repeatedly pressured local leaders to take action to stop crime, particularly downtown. He recently called on city leaders to take a look at a downtown bar because of violence in its vicinity, and he has accused the court system of "lenient" sentencing.

Choi has even met with Gov. Mike Kehoe about the issue, without city leaders. They held a separate meeting with Kehoe.

Do you agree with Choi's repeated criticisms of local officials? Let us know by voting in the poll.
