Jefferson City shooting victim released from the hospital. 3 others hurt
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Jefferson City police say one of four victims hurt in a Wednesday shooting has been released from the hospital.
As of Thursday afternoon, no one has been arrested in connection with the shooting at the Linc.
A release from the police department said five vehicles have been towed from the shooting scene "to recover evidence."
Police said Wednesday two of the shooting victims were found in the Linc parking lot and the others drove themselves to the hospital.
Three of the four victims were admitted to University Hospital in Columbia after originally being taken to Capital Region Medical Center.
"The most serious of the 3 suffered an injury to the abdomen and all of them had injuries consistent with gun fire, but I know specifically one had an injury to the abdomen," Jefferson City Police Department Lt. David Williams said in an interview.
A staff member at the Linc who did not want to be identified for safety reasons said the building went on lockdown during the incident and closed for the rest of the day. The community center was operating normally Thursday, the worker said.
Williams said it isn't clear whether those involved where Lincoln University students. The Linc is jointly operated by the university and the city. Williams said police are not releasing victims' names until they know more.
