Police release name of man killed in Columbia pedestrian crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department released the name of a man killed in a pedestrian crash last month.

Officers said the man was walking in a westbound lane of Interstate 70 when he was hit by two cars.

Brian Sam, 43, of Columbia was killed in the wreck on Sept. 5, police said.

Acccording to a release from the police department, a vehicle driving west on the highway hit Sam, then another vehicle hit the man.

Investigators located Sam's family with help from the FBI and the Bureau of Indian Affairs, police said.
