Tracking round of storms Saturday, scorching heat Sunday
TONIGHT: Increasing clouds and humid with lows in the low 70s. A few storms possible late, likely before sunrise. Some could bring heavy rain and frequent lightning.
TOMORROW: Showers and storms in the morning followed by partly cloudy skies. Highs in the low to mid-80s. Scattered storms possible by afternoon, with potentially isolated damaging winds and small hail. Rain amounts will add up to about an inch.
EXTENDED: The cold front responsible for tonight's storms will retreat back north on Sunday, minimizing rain chances for the most part during the day. Temperatures rise into the low 90s with heat indices trying to top 100 degrees. A few storms are possible Sunday evening, but the severe weather risk is low. We start off next week in the low 90s on Monday along with dew points in the 70s, leading to heat indices near 100 once again. The pattern stays active with daily chances for storms and hot temperatures in the upper 80s to around 90.
