Tracking heat and humidity, storms late Friday night
TONIGHT: Mostly clear and muggy with lows in the low 70s.
TOMORROW: Hot and humid with plenty of sunshine. Highs get into the low 90s with a heat index between 95-96.
EXTENDED: A cold front to our north Friday night will trigger a line of strong to severe thunderstorms across Iowa and northern Illinois that will eventually slide south late Friday night into Saturday morning across Mid-Missouri. Right now, it appears this line will weaken with time and pose less of a severe threat to Mid-Missouri, however a few storms could pose an isolated damaging wind threat along with potentially heavy rainfall. Storms continue to move south through Saturday morning, leaving us a bit cooler in the mid-80s with more clouds during the day. A few more storms are possible Saturday night, but are not expected to become severe. On Sunday, heat and humidity rules once again with highs around 90 and the heat index in the upper 90s. There could be a few thunderstorms towards afternoon and evening, but plenty of dry time during the day. Next week the hot streak continues along with daily storm chances through late week.
