Tracking the return of storm chances into this holiday weekend
FRIDAY: Showers and storms look to return, but most of us won't see them until this afternoon. Coverage looks to be easier to find north of I-70, closer to the front. Highs will make it into the upper 80's with the humidity ramping back up.
TONIGHT: Storm chances stick around overnight with lows falling into the upper 60's
EXTENDED: Off and on storms will be the story throughout the weekend. Another round will be possible Saturday afternoon, and looks to carry a low-end severe threat. The biggest threat would be damaging straight-line winds should anything become strong. Things have been trending toward a drier first half of Sunday with storms returning toward the evening. These too would have to be monitored for severe weather with similar threats. The bottom line is if you plan on being outdoors this weekend, keep an eye to the skies. You can always check radar here or by downloading the ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather App. We'll keep up this active weather pattern into Monday and Tuesday before trying to move these storm chances out by Thursday. Highs will stick around in the upper 80's through Monday before cooling off slightly into the middle of next week.
