REPORTS: Austin Simmons re-signs with Tigers

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Several reports, including from ESPN's Pete Thamel, have come out saying that Mizzou will retain its quarterback for the 2027-28 season.

Austin Simmons is said to have re-signed with the Tigers for next season, if he were to cash in on that fifth year. His deal reportedly has an out if the senior were to turn pro and enter the NFL Draft at the end of the year.

Simmons first joined the Tigers in the offseason after spending three years in Oxford with Ole Miss. He redshirted his freshman year before spending two active season's with the Rebels.

Through eight games, he sits fourth in the SEC in passing yards and touchdowns, with 1,952 and 16 respectively. With Simmons at the helm, Mizzou has the sixth best offense in the conference, with 424.6 yards per game.
