Route W ramp in Jefferson City to close next week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The ramp to Route W from westbound Highway 54 in Jefferson City is scheduled to close for several months beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

Motorists will be directed to use the West Main Street exit to eastbound Highway 54 to access Route W, a Friday press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation says.

The closure is expected to last into May 2027. Crews will also move temporary barriers from the median to the right shoulder and traffic will be shifted into the newly constructed lane, the release says.

The work is part of the project to widen Highway 54 between Highway 63 and the Missouri River Bridge.
